Sikh Genocide 1984, also known as the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, was a series of violent attacks against Sikhs in India following the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi by her Sikh bodyguards. The attacks resulted in the deaths of thousands of Sikhs and the displacement of many more.

During this time, mobs targeted Sikh homes, businesses, and places of worship, looting and burning them down. Many Sikhs were beaten, raped, and killed in the streets. The violence lasted for several days before the Indian government was able to restore order.
